Fender Mustang LT-25: Reliable hard-to-beat features at an attractive price range

It was only a matter of time before Fender ventured their attention towards creating an economical and flexible amplifier for all the budding guitarists and newcomers. The Fender Mustang LT-25 packs a lot of the features of the Mustang GT-40. 20 digital amp models, 25 effects, USB, an inbuilt chromatic tuner – the industry veterans have fulfilled the long-held demands of guitarists worldwide for an affordable and compact amp – one which makes you spend more time with your guitar.

Specifications

Fender embraced digital amp modeling technology with the Mustang series. The LT-25 also features a cool ⅛” display screen and a simple user interface to ease tone editing. It also has a versatile assortment of 30 onboard presets – inspired by the tonal output of your favorite guitar heroes. Edit and save them for later use.

The 25W digital circuitry drives an 8” Fender Special Design speaker through a well-built plywood cabinet. The solid-state amp also features all the necessary effects and modulation you might need at a starting stage. Choose from delay, stompbox, modulation. Want further tonal independence? Connect the amp to your PC through the micro-B USB and open the Fender Tone app.

Controls

The LT-25 combo features a 2-band EQ system- with Treble and Bass. The other controls include rotary knobs for Gain, Volume, Master Volume. For editing/selecting the presets, you get the Preset Select, Back, Save, and Menu Button. There is also a Tap Tempo/Tuner option for the chromatic tuner or delay tempo adjustments. The amp does not have options for a line-out. However, you get a ⅛” Stereo aux input. This comes handy for jamming along with your favorite tracks.

Design

LT-25 has a compact, lightweight, and versatile design. The product dimensions (12.775” x 14.5” X 8.25”) attest to this fact. The cabinet material features ⅝” plywood enclosure with vinyl covering. Fender has opted for a no-nonsense sleek black exterior for both the grille clothing and the textured vinyl covering over the cabinet. At 12.75 lbs, the amp is lightweight and easily portable.

The amp controls are housed on the top of the amp. Unlike the chicken head knobs of the vintage Fender amps, the LT-25 has the entire panel in black – with black rotary knobs. There is also an integrated recessed handle.
